Tips For Making Your Cape Coral Happy Hour The Best In Town

By Charles Mitchell

A lot of people make the transition from work to home in the evening by stopping in at their favorite bar for a drink. This gives them a chance to unwind and socialize with their friends before tackling family responsibilities. For bars, this is an excellent marketing opportunity. If you have a bar, you can improve your bottom line by implementing a Cape Coral happy hour that workers will flock to.

Some owners hesitate to offer discounted drinks to tired workers because they believe these people are likely to overindulge and cause problems. Most owners who have dedicated cocktail hours say this fear is overblown. The advantages usually outweigh the disadvantages. The dead hours before the dinner crowd arrives will be filled with paying customers. You will see new customers checking out your business and staying for dinner.

If you are going to do this, you have to do it right. You won't bring in the customers unless you really discount items. A lot of people decide which bar or restaurant to frequent based on the specials that are being offered. If you can come up with a gimmick, like a specialty drink served only at your establishment on certain days, and at a deeply discounted price, people are likely to show up and spend money.

You won't do yourself any favors if you offer your discounted cocktails too early or late in the day. Most workers get off between five and six. Discounting drinks and food between five and seven will get you the biggest crowds and the most revenue. On special occasions, you might advertise discounted drinks for an hour or so later in the evening.

Happy hour is not the time to break in new help. You need experienced bartenders and wait staff who know what they are doing and are experienced enough to do it well. This hours can be very hectic. Customers don't expect to wait long for their orders. If the service is slow, they will leave and go elsewhere. You have to stress this to your staff and explain how that will affect their pocketbooks as well as yours.

People just naturally want to go where the fun is. If you want your happy hour to succeed, the atmosphere has to be relaxed and inviting. You want your customers mixing, networking, and socializing along with eating and drinking. To make that happen, you need to provide some great music, good food, a wide variety of drinks, and great prices.

Regular happy hour customers want consistency when they come to your bar. They expect the same menu and drinks list, at the same prices, every week. They will assume that discounted food and beverages will be available at the same time. They will probably complain if you try to vary the musical selections.

Implementing cocktail hour is a great marketing strategy. You will increase your foot traffic, build your customer base, and make great money. There really isn't any reason to hesitate.
