The Benefits Of Allnatural Pastured Pork

By Brian Collins

People everywhere are starting to recognize the value and benefits of choosing food that is all-natural. By studying the cellular makeup of the meat that goes out to consumers, scientific research has shown that animals raised in this way produce meat that is more nutritional. Allnatural pastured pork is also known to have less fat.

Gone are the days when people didn't really think about the treatment of the animals that their food came from. Now people are more aware than ever of how much animals suffer when they are confined and not put in proper living conditions. This is something that many people simply won't stand for anymore and are looking for other options.

This is not just a practice for cows. All-natural or pastured animals are any livestock or poultry that are allowed to roam free in a pasture and go about their natural eating habits. The reason why chickens and pigs aren't called "grass-fed" like cows is that these animals are omnivores and eat much more than just grass.

It is hard not to feel guilty when one finally realizes how badly the animals at factory farms are treated. This can make it hard to be motivated to take any action at all because the efforts of one person seem insignificant. It is important not to feel guilty, since this isn't the fault of any one person.

The more people talk about this issue, the more it will continue to be in the forefront of the social issues of today. It is not always possible for people to afford to buy this kind of food regularly, so the next best thing is to advocate it publicly and in social circles. Spreading this awareness is one way that the prices can be driven down.

Anyone who has ever been to what is known as a factory farm has seen firsthand the horrors of a CAFO, or concentrated animal feeding operation. Some people are so used to these that they can overlook the gross mistreatment of these animals. It is not hard to see how bad the living conditions are on these farms.

The health risks associated with factory farms are terrifying. These operations are known to have very low standards of hygiene simply because of how many so-called "animal units" are confined there. Manure runoff can contaminate rivers and streams, putting people at risk of many diseases like E. Coli.

Most people don't even want to think about what the animals are fed on factory farms. Anyone who understands how the food chain works can probably understand why it is a bad idea to feed the animals we eat things that are toxic and not natural for them to eat. Nevertheless, these farms feed animals things like plastic, the animals' own feces, and anything to fatten them up without considering the health risks down the road.
